I’m, having the same problem with Rena L326, I can not get it to tab. It applies stamps, and labels, but I can’t get it to tab. I’m currently using regular tabs, Does it really have to use the “fan-fold” tabs? If I use regular role tabs, do I have to use the black back lining type?
The L-326 does not look at the backing paper, it looks at the tab after it peels away, so it has no effect.
It is best to use the Rena Fan Folded tabs designed for the L-326.
Rolls of tabs end up giving back resistance as it pulls them off the roll, ant that causes the backing to slip and the tabs position to vary.

I got my L-326 working fine now. It will run just about any tab, whether roll or fan fold.
The thin sheet of metal that keeps the mailing piece down as the runs through the machine was too tight and slowing up the item allowing the next one to catch up. I had to take it off and get a piece of spring steel shaped at a local machine shop. Not pretty but works much better.
Be careful when feeding from a roll, there should be very little if any drag. I had to build a rack to hold the roll and allow it to rotate.
I has been tabbing with 1.5 inch, 1 inch, 15/16 inch tabs, clear, translucent with no problems lately,
It will be nice to some day afford a newer, faster tabber, but for our volume and the fact that it is still functioning, I’ll stick with the L-326 for a while.
