Description
About the Walco FIR 8000
The Walco FIR 8000 is a Fannon infrared (IR) dryer built around an 8,000-watt infrared lamp. The higher wattage delivers more radiant heat for faster or heavier-coverage drying as pieces travel beneath the lamp.
Positioned over a conveyor in a production mail or print-finishing line, the FIR 8000 lets you run higher speeds or heavier ink and coating loads while still setting each piece in line. It is a step up in output from the 6,400-watt FIR 6400.
Inline, the FIR 8000 also mounts over the dry section of the Walco SB Series split bases — 4224SB, 4224SBH, 4224SBX, 4235SB, 4235SBH and 4235SBX — via the Walco 2110-3 IR dryer mount (sold separately).

Frequently Asked Questions
What's included with the Walco FIR 8000?
The Walco FIR 8000 ships as a Fannon 8,000-watt infrared dryer lamp assembly. Conveyor and downstream handling equipment are configured to suit your line.
How does the FIR 8000 compare to the FIR 6400?
The FIR 8000 provides 8,000 watts of infrared output versus 6,400 watts on the FIR 6400, giving you additional drying capacity for faster line speeds or heavier coverage.
Should I choose the FIR 8000 or the FNIR 9720?
The FIR 8000 is an 8,000-watt infrared lamp. The FNIR 9720 is a 9,720-watt near-infrared lamp, and near-infrared energy is absorbed and converted to heat very quickly, so it dries over a shorter conveyor span.
