About the Walco FIR 4000
The Walco FIR 4000 is a Fannon 4000-watt infrared (IR) dryer lamp used to cure and set ink or coating on mail pieces as they pass through a dryer base. The 4000 W IR output delivers the heat needed to dry inkjet-addressed or coated pieces quickly inline.
Mounted over a Walco dryer base such as the 240D, 350D or 520D, the FIR 4000 provides the drying element the base is built to carry — the dryer bases ship without a lamp so you specify the correct one. Its infrared heat suits solvent- and water-based inks and coatings that respond to thermal drying rather than UV.
Inline, the FIR 4000 also mounts over the dry section of the Walco SB Series split bases — 4224SB, 4224SBH, 4224SBX, 4235SB, 4235SBH and 4235SBX — via the Walco 2110-3 IR dryer mount (sold separately).
