Description
About the Straight Shooter SA-5
The Straight Shooter SA-5 Servo Attaching Feeder answered the mailing industry’s request for a compact, affordable attaching solution that can handle heavy workloads with minimal fuss. Its small footprint and simplified design let it go where other machines can’t — deploying on a wide variety of transport bases and fitting into challenging mailroom layouts.
The SA-5 uses an advanced servo-motor system for pinpoint document positioning, delivering within 1/8" accuracy, with a color touchscreen for adjustments and diagnostics. It applies one or two cards, various magnets or a wide range of media — from 2" x 2" up to 5" x 12" and up to 1/4" thick — at speeds up to about 25,000 single cards per hour. Straight Shooter’s patented Buckle Separation technology separates documents precisely without extra handling, protecting materials and saving time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the SA-5 still available new?
No — it is no longer in current production. We can support an existing SA-5 or help you find a current attaching feeder.
How fast and accurate is the SA-5?
Up to about 25,000 single cards per hour with placement accuracy within 1/8 in, handling media from 2 in x 2 in up to 5 in x 12 in and up to 1/4 in thick.
How does the SA-5 differ from a Straight Shooter R-12 friction feeder?
They do different jobs. The SA-5 is a servo attaching feeder that places one or two cards or magnets onto a piece with 1/8 in accuracy, on media 2–5 in wide by 2–12 in long, at up to 25,000 cards per hour. The R-12 is a continuous friction feeder that feeds whole pieces 3–12 in wide by 2–17 in long at up to 40,000 postcards per hour.
