About the Rena L-250
The Rena L-250 Labeler – Tabber was built to improve mailroom productivity, running clear, translucent or paper tabs and labels at speeds up to 20,000 pieces per hour. Changing tabs was easy, and it applied 1-up labels as well as tabs — an essential machine for anyone sending batches that mix labels and tabbing. It featured an integrated feeder holding up to 300 #10 envelopes and could print up to 30 million addresses over a five-year life cycle (500,000 per month).
Key specs: tabbing speed of 20,000 pieces/hour on an 8.5" tri-folded mailer; material from 3" x 5" up to 17" x 11"; material thickness up to 5/32"; tab size 5/8" to 1-1/2" with adjustable tab sensitivity; 9"-diameter reel on a 3" core; 5-digit resettable LCD counter; 25"W x 15.5"D x 22"H; 40 lb; 115/240VAC 50/60 Hz. Straight talk: some parts for the Rena L-250 are getting hard to find — but it was built to last. These were genuinely well-made units, and a well-cared-for one may run for years yet. It’s off the current price lists, and while we can still source many parts, certain components — most often boards, displays and electronics — are increasingly scarce. We can often keep one running. We just can’t promise it indefinitely.
Protect what you have. These machines were built to last, and the mechanics will outlive the electronics every time. If you’re running one, put it on a quality surge protector, and add static protection — especially in dry winter air or on high-speed paper handling. Power spikes and static are what kill boards, and on these machines a board may not be replaceable at any price. It’s the cheapest insurance there is for equipment you can’t simply reorder.
