About the FlexMail 4.3 Basic

FlexMail 4.3 Basic Edition puts professional variable data and barcode design on your desktop with a permanent license — buy it once and it is yours. Fixed and variable text can be combined into a single line with unnecessary spaces suppressed and blank lines removed, using any font or formatting, and fixed or variable graphics in a wide variety of formats can be placed anywhere in the layout.

It supports more than 80 barcode types, including 2-D and postal barcodes, opens databases of any size in Access, Excel, text (csv, tab), XML, HTML, dBase and anything else reachable over an ODBC connection, and sorts and filters records on any field with re-usable queries. Counters, sequential numbering, dates and times can be generated in any format, page sizes run up to 100 in / 250 cm, and it prints to any Windows-supported printer as well as the Specialty HP2, with data-driven print pauses, print-head purging and a keep-alive function that stops nozzles drying out. If you are weighing Basic against the Advanced Edition, give us a call — we will help you pick the right fit before you spend a dime more than you need to.

FlexMail 4.3 Basic vs Advanced vs Professional

Edition split taken from the manufacturer’s own edition matrix published at flex-systems.com. Advanced adds over Basic: multi-page PDF opened “as database”; database management (convert databases between supported formats, find and remove duplicate records, merge databases, purge records that exist in another); generated content for postal barcodes and indicia, and postal indicia itself; Visual Basic .NET functions; look-up tables; duplex and variable-sized layouts; imported page backgrounds; variable images based on conditional data; color adjustment; print to PDF, multiple simultaneous printers, print proof in PDF and print-cost calculation; Inc.jet and XiJet printer support; and the EDDM and Certified Mail add-on modules. Professional adds over Advanced: getting data from PDF documents; multiple conditional layouts; Specialty iM2 and iM4 printer support; and the scripting group — read-and-print and print-and-verify scripts, scripts that control the print process, scripts linked to the mail table, and custom print-bar controls.
