About the AS-650

The RENA AS-650 is a mid-level monochrome thermal inkjet address printer running six HP45A-style cartridges in two groups of three, for a 3in x 17in image area at four print qualities from 150 to 600 dpi. Rated speeds reach 34,000 postcards or 26,000 #10 envelopes per hour — plan on 15,000–17,000 #10s real-world — on media from 3in x 5in up to 13.5in x 17in and up to 3/8in thick. It prints the address, USPS Intelligent Mail barcode, return address, and permit in a single pass.

With a 500-envelope feeder capacity, a user-friendly touchscreen, and USB 3.0, Ethernet, and WiFi connectivity, the AS-650 fits lettershops and in-plant mail centers running daily production. Specialty inks are available for UV-coated and non-porous media, plus invisible security ink for sensitive applications. RENA rates it for roughly 500,000 pieces per month; plan on 300,000–400,000 in day-to-day production — enough for it to sit comfortably at the addressing station of a serious direct mail workflow, feeding tabbers and sorting downstream.
