Description

About the Mercure / Secap 720

The Mercure / Secap 720 may well be the last envelope sealer you ever need to buy. This fast, Swiss-built sealing machine seals all common envelope formats — from #10 up to C4 Pocket — at up to 300 per minute, with a simple setup and no manual opening of flaps or pressing of letter piles. It is the result of decades of development and production experience in mail-processing machines.

Its deep design (460 mm) suits all common formats including C5, C6/5, C4 and B4 plus C4 Pocket (324 x 229 mm), ideal with the flap on the short side. An integrated photoelectric infrared switching system provides automatic start/stop during processing, so your hands stay free to add letters and clear the receiving tray — with no empty cycles and no extra wear. A standard version handles common envelopes with flap on the length side and a short receiving tray, with options for a long tray for C4/B4 formats. Use Supplies For Mailers sealing fluid concentrate to activate the glue quickly and reduce mold buildup.

Still Supported by All For Mailers

All For Mailers continues to support the Mercure / Secap 720 with sealing fluid, separating rubber, conveyor belts and parts. New sealers in this series have been available — contact us for current price and availability.

Protect what you have. These machines were built to last, and the mechanics will outlive the electronics every time. If you’re running one, put it on a quality surge protector, and add static protection — especially in dry winter air or on high-speed paper handling. Power spikes and static are what kill boards, and on these machines a board may not be replaceable at any price. It’s the cheapest insurance there is for equipment you can’t simply reorder.

Every row above comes from this product’s own published page copy — the seven original bullet specs, reformatted into the site spec table with no value changed, plus flap handling and recommended supply from the description. No manufacturer spec sheet for the 720 is on file, so envelope thickness range, dimensions, weight and power are omitted rather than estimated — call 866-430-2874 for those.

Common Secap 720 / Mercure Problems & First Checks

Envelopes not sealing fully: Check moistening fluid level, clean moistening components, and use a sealing fluid concentrate rather than plain water — it activates envelope glue faster and reduces mold buildup.

Misfeeds or double feeds: Inspect the separating rubber — the most common wear item, inexpensive to replace.

Envelopes stalling in transport: Check the conveyor belt for wear, glaze, or adhesive buildup.

Machine will not start automatically: Clean the photoelectric infrared sensor — paper dust is the usual culprit.
