Description
About the FD 6406 Special 6
The Formax FD 6406 Special 6 is the six-station heavyweight of the 6406 Series, fielding two special feeders and four standard feeders for mailings that pack an envelope full. It runs up to 4,000 pieces per hour, folds up to 10 sheets in half-fold mode or 8 sheets tri-fold, and is built to order as a custom-configured product.
AutoSet with 50 programmed jobs keeps a six-feeder machine surprisingly easy to run from its 7-inch color touchscreen. Cascade Mode links feeders so long runs never pause for reloading, and the 325-envelope top-loading hopper refills on the fly. Electromechanical double-document detectors, a divert station, auto standby mode, and options including a CIS scanner and thin booklet feeder complete the specification, with a 500-envelope vertical stacker on output.

What can six stations do that fewer cannot?
With two special and four standard feeders, the Special 6 assembles a document plus multiple varied inserts — even tricky media — in one pass.
Can it feed booklets?
An optional thin booklet feeder is available, alongside the optional CIS scanner for OMR, barcode and QR reading.
How does the Special 6 compare to the FD 6406 Special 4?
Both are 6406 Series machines rated up to 4,000 pieces per hour. The Special 4 has four stations (two standard, two special); the Special 6 fields six (four standard, two special) for mailings that pack more inserts into each envelope.
