About the ColorMax8
The Formax ColorMax8 is a digital color printer that pairs a Memjet print head — 70,400 nozzles, no moving parts — with a wider, flat paper path so it prints far more than envelopes. Stuffed envelopes, 10in x 13in flats, chipboard, corrugated cardboard, cartons, and padded envelopes up to 3/8in thick all run through it, with full-bleed CMYK output in up to 16.8 million colors on media up to 8.5in wide. Print modes deliver 1600 x 1600 dpi at 6 inches per second or 1600 x 800 dpi at 12 inches per second — about 8,000 pieces per hour — controlled from a 7in color touchscreen.
That media flexibility makes the ColorMax8 a strong fit for fulfillment houses, e-commerce shippers, and mailers who brand packaging as well as mailpieces. Because the thermal inkjet process uses no heat or contact, pre-printed and windowed envelopes are safe, and finished, stuffed pieces can be printed after inserting. High-capacity ink tanks and automated print head cleaning keep runs moving, and an optional output conveyor stacker keeps long runs organized.
