About the AP4
The Formax AP4 is a high-volume monochrome inkjet address printer designed for in-line applications. Its 2+4+2 head configuration — three independent print head banks running eight cartridges — covers a 4in print area with a maximum print range of 12.75in. Speeds reach 26,000 #10 envelopes or 34,000 postcards per hour at up to 600 dpi, on media up to 1/2in thick. Positionable transport belts keep registration tight across odd sizes, and four AP22 ink cartridges ship with the unit.
The AP4 belongs in production mailrooms and lettershops running addressing in-line with feeders, tabbers, and conveyors. Run it stand-alone, or specify the AP4F configuration with the AP12 heavy-duty friction feeder holding 500 #10 envelopes. The 4.5in color touchscreen offers job preview and cost estimating, 16GB of job storage, ink monitoring, and batch, job, and lifetime counters. USB 3.0 and LAN connectivity, TrueType fonts, spot color, and support for coated, uncoated, and UV stocks round out the spec sheet, with an optional 3-ft conveyor stacker at the end of the line.
