Important Warning
Do not install new yellow QA chip ink tanks into your printer until the firmware has been verified and updated if needed.
Do not attempt a firmware update on a printer that is not stable. If the printer is having communication issues with the driver or Toolbox, those issues should be addressed first.
Minimum Firmware Versions Required
- AS-970C / Mach 5: R16.0 (R16.0-AMC1)
- AS-MACH 6: R1.7.0 (S1_Mk2_R1.7.0)
We also recommend installing the current printer driver for your printer model.
How to Check Your Current Firmware Version
- From your PC, open the Toolbox.
- Click View.
- Select Service Menus.
- Open the Diagnostics page.
- Locate the Firmware Version shown on the screen.
Before You Submit Your Request
To speed up review, please gather the following information from the printer before completing the form:
- Printer model
- Printer serial number
- Print engine serial number
- Toolbox values such as system status, mech state, mech status, maintenance status, firmware, and ink information
- Total page counts from the Diagnostics screen
- Whether a configuration page has been printed from the Toolbox Diagnostics screen
- Whether the service station guide is installed and lubricated
- Any current printer issues, errors, or communication problems
