How to choose a tabber or wafer sealer
The deciding factor is how your piece is produced: a standalone tabber processes already-folded pieces on their own, while an inline or attachment tabber mounts onto a folder or inserter and applies tabs as part of that machine's cycle. Choose based on whether tabbing needs to be its own step or part of an existing line.
Tab placement and count generally depend on your mail piece's fold and size; self-mailers and certain folded formats have mailability rules that affect how many tabs are needed and where. We can help you confirm placement, but always verify final mailability requirements with your local Postal Service representative before a full run.
Volume matters for speed: single-head tabbers suit lower volumes, while double-head and high-speed models suit larger, ongoing runs.
Brands we carry

Tabber and wafer sealer questions
What is the difference between a tab and a wafer seal?
Both close a folded, envelope-free mail piece; the terms are generally used to describe similar adhesive closures, and the exact material can vary by machine and by tab stock chosen.
Do I need a standalone tabber or an inline attachment?
A standalone tabber processes already-folded pieces as a separate step. An inline attachment mounts onto a folder or inserter and tabs pieces as part of that machine's normal cycle, saving a handling step.
How many tabs does my mail piece need?
This depends on your piece's size and fold and on current postal mailability standards, so we recommend confirming exact placement and count with your local Postal Service representative before a full run.
Do you carry refurbished tabbers?
Yes, our lineup generally includes new, used, and refurbished units, including AFM-refurbished machines. Call us and we will size the right condition and speed to your volume honestly.
