Pressure Sealers

Pressure sealers fold and seal printed forms into tamper-evident, mailable self-mailers without a separate envelope, ideal for checks, statements, and PIN mailers. AFM stocks new Formax AutoSeal pressure sealers from compact desktop units to high-volume production models with pile feeders. We ship nationwide and back every machine with phone support from our own technicians. Below the machines: our plain-English guide to choosing a pressure sealer, and answers to the questions we hear most.

How to choose a pressure sealer

The one deciding spec is monthly volume in forms per hour, not sheet capacity. Desktop AutoSeal units suit occasional runs of a few hundred forms; step up to a high-volume or production model with a pile feeder once you are running thousands of forms in a sitting, so the machine is not working at its ceiling every day.

Next, check fold pattern and paper stock compatibility. Z-fold and C-fold checks, statements, and PIN mailers each need the sealer configured for that specific fold and glue pattern — confirm your form matches the model's supported fold list before you buy, and send us a sample if you are not sure.

Fully automatic models with integrated conveyors reduce hands-on time for continuous runs, while manual-feed desktop units keep cost and footprint down for lower-volume offices.

Pressure sealer questions

What is a pressure sealer, exactly?
It's a machine that folds a printed form and seals it shut using pressure-sensitive adhesive already on the paper, producing a tamper-evident mailer with no separate envelope required.

What paper stock do pressure sealers need?
They require pressure-seal paper — stock pre-printed with the adhesive pattern built in — rather than ordinary copy paper; your forms printer can supply it or tell you which pattern your job needs.

Can pressure sealers handle checks and PIN mailers?
Yes, that's one of their most common uses; confirm the specific fold pattern (Z-fold, C-fold, etc.) your check or PIN form requires matches what the model supports.

What's the difference between desktop and production pressure sealers?
Desktop models suit occasional runs of a few hundred forms; production models with pile feeders are built for continuous runs of thousands of forms without an operator reloading constantly.

Do pressure sealers need a special glue or heat source?
No — sealing happens through pressure on the paper's built-in adhesive, not heat or added glue, which is part of why the machines are relatively simple to maintain.
