Postage Stamp Appliers

Postage stamp appliers affix real self-adhesive stamps to envelopes at speed — many mailers find real stamps outperform metered indicia for response-driven mail. AFM stocks new, used, and refurbished stamp appliers, including AFM’s own in-house-rebuilt AFM80ST, from Accufast, Rena, Pitney Bowes, Neopost, Secap, Postmatic, Astro, Hasler, and Formax, many combined with tabbing in one machine. We ship nationwide and back every machine with phone support from our own technicians. Below the machines: our plain-English guide to choosing a stamp applier, and answers to the questions we hear most.

How to choose a postage stamp applier

The one deciding spec is speed in pieces per hour, matched honestly to your actual mailing volume — buying more machine than you run wastes money, and buying less means the machine becomes your bottleneck. Many mailers find real stamps lift response versus metered indicia for certain audiences, but that is a marketing decision for you to make, not a guarantee we can offer.

Most stamp appliers on this page also tab, seal, or apply labels in the same pass — check whether you need a dedicated stamp-only unit or a combination tabber/stamp-affixer, since running two functions in one machine saves a step but adds complexity.

New machines carry a full manufacturer warranty; used and refurbished units — including our own in-house-rebuilt AFM80ST — cost less up front and remain a solid choice for lower-volume or backup use, provided the seller stands behind the rebuild.

Brands we carry

Postage stamp applier questions

Why use real stamps instead of a postage meter?
Many mailers find real stamps get opened and read more often than metered mail, since they look more personal — it's a response-rate strategy you can weigh against the added handling of buying and applying stamps.

Which rolls of USPS stamps can I use?
The USPS offers a large selection of stamps on 3-inch cores. These stamps have a space between each stamp and are designed for machine application; small rolls of standard stamps will not run. More information on stamp rolls for machine application.

Can one machine tab and apply stamps at the same time?
Yes — most stamp appliers on this page also tab and some apply labels, all in a single pass; check the model's spec sheet for which functions are combined.

What's the AFM80ST?
It's our own in-house-rebuilt stamp applier and tabber, offered as a lower-cost alternative to buying new while still going through our own rebuild process.

How fast do stamp appliers run?
Speeds vary widely by model, from lower-volume desktop units up to high-speed machines rated for tens of thousands of pieces per hour — tell us your daily volume and we'll match you honestly.

Do you sell used and refurbished stamp appliers?
Yes — alongside new machines, we stock used and refurbished units, including our own rebuilt AFM80ST.
