A conveyor moves printed mail pieces between production steps, while a dryer cures inkjet printing before the piece is handled further, which matters most on glossy or coated stock. AFM stocks collection conveyors, transport bases, and UV or infrared dryers, including new and refurbished units, built to pair with envelope and mail printers. Every unit ships nationwide, and our phone team can help confirm which conveyor or dryer matches your printer’s output. Below the machines: our plain-English guide to choosing a conveyor or dryer, and answers to the questions we hear most.

The deciding factor is your stock and print method. Inkjet printing onto glossy, coated, or slick stock generally needs to cure before handling, which is what a dryer is for; uncoated stock generally does not require one. If you are unsure whether your stock needs drying, tell us what you are printing and on what material.
Conveyors are chosen by width and length to match your printer's output and your available floor space, moving pieces to a collection point, a turnover, or the next stage of your line without manual handling.
Speed and orientation matter too: confirm a conveyor or dryer's rated speed matches your printer's output, and that its width and configuration fit your existing line.
Our conveyor and dryer lineup includes Accufast, Walco, Rena, and Formax, covering collection conveyors, transport bases, and UV and infrared drying systems.
Do I need a dryer for my mailing?
Generally only if you are inkjet printing onto glossy, coated, or slick stock, where ink needs to cure before handling. Uncoated stock generally does not require one.
What is the difference between a UV and an infrared dryer?
Both cure ink before further handling; the two use different curing methods, and the right choice generally depends on your printer and ink type. Tell us what you are running and we will confirm the right fit.
How do I know what size conveyor I need?
Match the conveyor's width and length to your printer's output and your floor space. Tell us your printer model and layout and we will help confirm sizing.
Can a conveyor connect two machines in my line?
Many conveyors are used to move pieces between two stages, such as from a printer to a collection point or turnover. Confirm speed and width compatibility with both machines before you buy.
