- LASER Addressing Systems: Print anywhere in 1 pass at laser quality! Disadvantage: Slow, low feed capicity, limited thickness. Advantage: Print Quality, User friendly, Print unmatched graphics, No barcode and merlin problems, print any barcode, Fast and Easy setup.
- Table Top / Fixed Head / Fixed Feeder / Address Printers: Print head fixed in place mail piece moves under head. Feeder built into system.Disadvantage: Print area limited to head height, must use built in feeder Advantage: Faster than Shuttling Head Systems, quick setup time
- Table Top / Fixed Head / Console Addressing Systems: Print head fixed in place mail piece moves under head. Feeder NOT built into system allowing different feeders to be attached.Disadvantage: Print area limited to head height, slightly longer setup time than fixed feeder systems Advantage: Can use different feeders adding flexibility, easily add inline equipment such as a tabber
- Table Top Shuttling Head Addressing Systems: Print head moves back and forth across mail piece, Disadvantage slower than fixed head, more moving parts than fixed head Advantage: normally can print anywhere on mailer, quick and easy setup
- Floor Model Mailing Systems: Large fixed head systems Disadvantage: Cost, Repairs tend to take longer adding cost, longest setup time Advantage: Durability, Can use different feeders, easily add inline tabber, normally good vacuum transport, the right one will last a lifetime, most upgradeable.
